Frank Medina RIP

Old Illtydian RFC is sad to announce the death of Frank Medina after a long battle against cancer. He dealt with his illness with bravery and good humour whilst continuing live as normally as possible through its treatment. Indeed, Frank continued to support the team sitting on the touchline, and was an enthusiastic participant in the “Old Farts” end of seasons’ excursions, and several memorable tours.

Frank attended St. Cadoc’s and St. Illtyd’s schools, where he discovered his love of rugby, and, was a “one-club” man. He played for OIRFC as a creative flanker, playing through Firsts to the Fourths, where he most enjoyed his rugby alongside his life-long friends Terry and Peter because of the “craic”, the humour and the banter! Later, Frank served as Treasurer and Club Secretary. Outside of rugby, Frank trained as an Accountant and established his own company. He was also a Justice of the Peace, OIRFC sends its condolences to his wife and family. Details of arrangements will be posted when known. RIP.
